Derbyshire, with its rolling hills, charming villages, and grand country estates, provides a truly idyllic backdrop for your wedding day.

Whether you dream of a grand celebration in a historic house or a more intimate affair in a converted barn, Derbyshire has a venue to suit your style.

As a wedding sax player who's performed at hundreds of weddings across the country, I've put together a list of my top 10 favourite venues in Derbyshire.

1. Grangefields Barn

Nestled in the heart of the Derbyshire countryside, Grangefields Barn is one of the stunning venues from Cripps & Co. that exudes rustic elegance on the historic Trusley Estate. With its wildflower lawns, fire pits and bright open rooms, it's a picture-perfect setting.

2. Swancar Farm Country House

Thinking of a charming farmhouse feel? This beautifully restored farmhouse offers a relaxed, intimate setting – celebrate in the idyllic courtyard or dance the night away in the converted barn.

3. Donington Park Farmhouse

Steeped in history, Donington Park Farmhouse is a charming 17th-century farmhouse that oozes character, with cosy inglenooks and spacious gardens.

4. Shottle Hall

A stunning Victorian country house blending traditional charm and modern luxury – impressive facades, elegant interiors and sprawling gardens.

5. Tissington Hall

A 17th-century Jacobean mansion in the picturesque village of Tissington. Owned by the FitzHerbert family for over 400 years, with the Great Hall, Drawing Room and Orangery for ceremony and reception.

6. The Riding School, Calke Abbey

A beautifully converted 18th-century riding school in National Trust grounds, planned by the in-house team at Ivy House.

7. The West Mill

For industrial chic – a converted mill with exposed brickwork, original beams and a riverside setting. You work your way through the floors over the course of the day.

8. Haarlem Mill

A hidden gem – an 18th-century mill restored into a unique, intimate venue with a converted mill building and picturesque gardens.

9. The River Mill

The sister venue of The West Mill, on the banks of the River Derwent. Light-filled conservatory and a charming courtyard.

10. Yeldersley Hall

A magnificent Georgian mansion in the rolling Derbyshire countryside, with grand reception rooms, manicured gardens and a stunning lake. The venue where I first fell in love with weddings.

P.S. Once you've booked your venue, don't forget to think about your live music! Take a look at my all-day wedding sax packages – from a Derbyshire gal through and through.
